The Holts Summit Fire Protection District is Actively involved in Public Education. We are members of the Jefferson City Area Safe Kids Coalition.  Members of the department go to schools, homes, day cares, extended care facilities, and the local area Civic Association to educate individuals in the community about Fire Safety and Prevention.

CHILD EDUCATION - "SAFEKIDS"

  Part of educating the younger people in the community involves the use of the Jefferson City Area Safe Kids Trailer. This trailer is a camper that has been converted into a simulated home. The trailer is equipped with accessories that can be found in the average household setting. Children are taught to identify the potential hazards. a smoke generator then pumps smoke into every room, and smoke detectors activate. Then the children are assisted in choosing the closest, safest route out of the structure.
